ShapeStyles system requirements

Hardware Requirements

If your computer can handle the PowerPoint files you typically work with, it will work very well with ShapeStyles.

Office/PowerPoint and Windows versions

ShapeStyles is an add-in for Windows PowerPoint. It works with these versions of PowerPoint:

ShapeStyles is compatible with Windows 98 through Windows 7. It has not been tested with, and may not be compatible with 64-bit versions of Windows or Office 2010/64-bit. Office 2010 Click-To-Run versions cause problems with ShapeStyles. We're looking into workarounds.

The free ShapeStyles demo will allow you to test thoroughly for yourself.

Mac PowerPoint

ShapeStyles is not compatible with PowerPoint for Macintosh, but should work well when installed on a Mac in a Windows virtual machine under VMWare Fusion, Parallels or similar products.

Other operating systems

ShapeStyles doesn't work with operating systems that don't have a native version of PowerPoint. If you have a Windows emulator that supports one of the versions of PowerPoint listed above, ShapeStyles should work as well.

What About PowerPoint 2007 and later?

ShapeStyles will install in Office 2007/2010 and is generally compatible with it. When you install ShapeStyles, you'll see a new "Add-ins" tab on the Office "ribbon" and on it, a new ShapeStyles group. There won't be any new toolbars or PPTools menu item as in previous versions of PowerPoint. PowerPoint 2007 no longer has toolbars and menus.
