32-bit, 64-bit ... what's this all about?

32-bit / 64-bit ... what's all this business about bitness?

Windows 7 and Windows 8 are available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
Office 2010 and Office 2013 are available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

You can install 32-bit Office on either 32-bit or 64-bit Windows.
PPTools add-ins work in either situation.

You can only install 64-bit Office on 64-bit Windows.
Most of the PPTools add-ins will NOT work in 64-bit Office versions.
